Following the success of last year’s inaugural Foodfest, North Devon will again be showcasing its best local food and drink at this one-day food extravaganza under the cover of Barnstaple’s historic Pannier Market.
This year it’ll be twice the size of last time with chef demonstrations by Mark Dodson of The Masons Arms, Tom Frost from the Elmfield Hotel, James Duckett of the Old Custom House, John Emms of Lathwells Restaurant, Brian Steele of Yeoldon House Hotel and Scott Simpson of On The Steps Restaurant. Also on the demo stage - which will be hosted by ITV Westcountry’s Seth Conway and Brend Hotel’s group development chef Dez Turland - will be Channel 4’s Willie Harcourt Cooze (pictured), who will be doing a bean-to-bar chocolate demonstration before signing copies of his book. The demo stage will round off with a Ready Steady Cook-style competition
Throughout the day there will be over 60 stands selling some of the best and award-winning local produce from across North Devon. There will also be food to eat from local restaurants which will be doing tasters from their popular menus.
Real ale and cider lovers will be able to enjoy premium local brews at the licensed bar, and musicians will entertain the crowd from the live music stage.
