North Devon and Exmoor Tourism Strategy

NORTH DEVON & EXMOOR TOURISM STRATEGY 2010

You are invited to contribute to a new tourism strategy for North Devon & Exmoor.

  • What are the key issues facing tourism in the area over the next ten years?
  • What are the main opportunities?
  • How can and should the sector respond?
  • Which are the most appropriate visitor markets to focus upon?
  • What are the training and skills priorities for the future?
  • What are the priorities for action?

These are just some of the important questions that a new strategy will consider and, as a plan for the whole area, we need your help in developing it.

As a first step, and to generate ideas and discussion, we have produced a Position Paper which draws together available data, research, and knowledge about the current state of tourism in the area and potential issues for the future. You can view this document from the link below.

How can I get involved?

  • Please do read the Position Paper and let us know your views – a feedback form for your comments is  available below, which can be emailed, faxed or posted back to us.
  • Take part in one of our discussion groups, which we will hold across the area – you can tell us that you would like to take part through the feedback form.
  • Get in touch if you would like more information – our contact is Jon Vernon (tel. 01237 426426, email jvernon@northdevonplus.co.uk )

"As a North Devon-based attraction, we have received a huge amount of promotional support from North Devon Plus. The team are very forthcoming with marketing and PR opportunities and are always keen to do all they can to help spread the word (both locally and nationally) about North Devon and all that it has to offer."
