Leader4 Rural Develpment Programme
Leader 4 Torridge and North Devon is a programme with a £3.438 million grant to provide project funding and development support to improve the economy, environment and quality of life in rural areas. This programme is funded by a European grant from the Common Agricultural Policy and by Defra.
Support will be available for innovative, sustainable and high quality projects that meet the Leader 4 aim and objectives. As we are nearing the end of the programme, new applications for funding must be for projects that will be completed by the end of November 2013 at the very latest. The programme area includes all of rural Torridge and North Devon districts except for the six central wards that make up Barnstaple Town (Pilton, Yeo Valley, Forches & Whiddon Valley, Newport, Longbridge and Central Town). The map below shows the extent of the Leader 4 area.
Successful projects include the development if new community facilities, business support and training and supporting key sectors such as Food & Drink and our cultural heritage.
