Seaside Success Fund

What is the aim of the grant scheme?

The Seaside Success Fund has been created by Torridge District Council and is available to individuals who want to establish a business or have been trading for less than 12 months, within the Bideford and coastal parishes of Torridge District Council.

To qualify for the scheme you must have:

• Two forms of ID to confirm name and address

• Three months personal bank statements or confirmation in writing that a personal bank account is not held

• A signed completed application form and cash flow forecast

How do I apply?

Click here for an Initial Project Outline (IPO).  Subject to the success of your IPO you will be invited to submit a full application, which will comprise of your business/marketing plan.  Please note following the completion of your IPO you will be assigned a business advisor from North Devon+ who will be able to provide you with one-to-one advice throughout the grant process.

What can I use the grant for?

Application to this scheme is through a competitive process, the level of grant is discretionary depending on the financial credibility and strength of your business proposal.  The grant can be used for activity that will help you to establish your business, some examples could be:

• Purchase of equipment

• Product development or testing

• Research

• Marketing

• Rent

• Specific Licences and/or software

• Training

What cannot be funded?

• Vehicles

• Actions to meet Health and Safety or other statutory requirements

• Wage subsidy                   

When will I know if my application has been successful?

We must receive your full completed application before the panel will consider.  Please allow at least two months between submitting your full application and planned start date.  Please note that Torridge District Council cannot provide retrospective funding therefore do not purchase items or agree contracts prior to receiving a decision.
